Class field trips

Send groups outdoors to apply what they learned in class. Each stop can test knowledge, link to your scheme of work, and stay private to your class.

  • Students join as group names (e.g. “Team Red”), not full names on public boards
  • Add lesson questions or multiple-choice checks at each location
  • Hunts stay private — only people with your codes can play
  • Host a class session to see which groups reach each checkpoint

Hunt details

Story intro?

Players see this when they start — use it to explain the theme, rules, or what they are looking for.

?

Unlisted: not on the public list — share the join code. Public: anyone browsing can find it. Private: invite-only via code (class trips are always private).

?

Easy / medium / hard is shown on listings so groups know what to expect (distance, puzzle toughness). It does not change how GPS or points work.

?

How long you expect the hunt to take — helps families, teachers, and parties plan their outing.

?

Choose how the hunt flows — description updates when you pick an option.

?

General: parties, friends, tourism. Class field trip: adds learning objectives, free hints by default, and keeps the hunt private for your pupils.

?

Applies to new checkpoints unless you override per stop. Deduct = classic treasure hunt (hints cost points). Free = better for kids and school groups.

?

Fixed order: classic treasure hunt — clue 1 leads to stop 2. Any order: guided tour — GPS sends players to the nearest unfinished stop and shows walking ETAs.
