How to play
Swap two neighbouring gems to line up three or more of the same colour. Matches of four make a Striped gem that clears a whole row or column, L/T shapes make a Bomb that clears a 3 by 3, and five in a row makes a Rainbow gem — swap a Rainbow with any gem to clear every gem of that colour. Chain cascades to fill the Combo Meter for a free Rainbow reward.
Tips & strategy
Look for moves that also set up something else — a 4-match placed next to a tall column lets you blast both at once. Save Rainbow gems for the colour you have the most of on screen. In Blitz, prioritise moves that create specials (they score more and cascade further); in Endless, protect your Combo Meter by chaining matches quickly rather than thinking too long between moves. When in doubt, the Hint button flashes a legal move after a few seconds of idle.

- Long relaxed play in Endless mode with no lives, no timer and no energy gate.

- A free, family-friendly puzzle alternative to paid match-3 apps.
Frequently asked questions
Is Gem Cascade actually free with no paywall?
Yes. Every mode, every feature, every gem is free forever. There are no lives, no energy system, no waiting timers and no in-app purchases — the whole game lives in your browser.
What is the Combo Meter?
Every match adds to the meter. Chain big cascades to fill it quickly, and when it is full you receive a free Rainbow gem dropped onto the board — swap it with any colour to clear every gem of that colour.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Drag with your finger to swap gems, or tap one then tap a neighbour. The board scales to your screen and the game is fully touch-optimised.
What is the Daily Challenge?
Every 24 hours a brand new board is generated from the date, so everyone in the world plays the same starting position. Compare scores with friends and try to beat your own best.
