How to play Quintari

Guess the hidden word within your 6 tries. Each guess must be a real word of the chosen length.

  1. After you submit a guess, each tile flips and changes colour.
  2. A violet tile means the letter is correct and in the right spot.
  3. An amber tile means the letter is in the word but in a different spot.
  4. A slate tile means the letter isn't in the word at all.

Play Daily for a shared puzzle everyone gets, or Unlimited for endless rounds. Toggle Hard mode to force every revealed hint to be used in your next guess. Your progress and streak are saved locally in your browser.

How to play

Type a five-letter guess. Green tiles mean the letter is in the right spot, yellow means it is in the word but in a different spot, grey means it is not in the word. You have six guesses. The daily puzzle is the same for everyone until midnight.

Tips & strategy

Open with a word that uses five different common letters (e.g. "raise", "slate"). Use your second guess to test a different set of vowels rather than re-trying letters you already know. Save your bottom two guesses for words that fit every clue.

Is this the same as Wordle?

No. Quintari is our own take on the five-letter / six-try mechanic, with our own word list, our own UI, our own logo and original copy.

Does it have a daily puzzle?

Yes. A new daily word is shared globally every 24 hours, and you can keep playing practice rounds in between.
